Pictures

Just some photos I'd like to post and share...

A wonderful, wonderful, talented friend of mine has a nice little camera.... and the talent to use it. Here are some photos she took of her "nephew" in September. These are just a few of my faves!

Where did my baby go?! And who is this little boy looking so grown up?!

Can you see those lashes??

Splashing water is sooo funny!

He insisted on wearing his John Deere cap... and cocked to the side too!

And probably my #1 favorite...

Prayer Request

2nd UPDATE:
Great News – earlier this afternoon they took Preston off of the ventilator. He is breathing on his own. Also, he is moving around some when coming out of the medication and he recognized His grandmother's voice. He was twisting his head around to try to find her. The nurse said that they really had been blessed with how well he is doing. She got a little teary eyed when saying that. They told the nurse that lots of prayers have been going up for this precious child. All of the family are in good spirits.

UPDATE:
From another friend's mother, who visited them at the hospital this morning.....
They removed the obstruction, it was a small piece of pea gravel logged into the ventricle going into his left lung. It was about the size of the top of my little finger. They are trying to get his oxygen levels up and the fluid out of his lung. He was moving around and starting to pitch a fit, which they felt was a good sign. They won’t know for a while if there is any damage to his lung or brain (due to oxygen deprivation). Nathan, the father, said that he had been coughing – gagging for a couple of weeks, and they had taken him to the doctor three times in the past two weeks and was told it was sinus drainage / croup.

Please pray there was no damage done!

Original post:
A friend of mine’s son, just under 2-yrs old, was rushed to the hospital last night. From what I understand, he was having trouble breathing. It was discovered that he had an obstruction to his lung. He was med-flighted to Children’s Hospital on life support where he had emergency surgery to remove a ROCK from his lung!
As of this morning, he is still at Children’s and will remain on life support until tomorrow.
I don’t have any other information yet! But I know a prayer can’t hurt a bit!

For those of you that know Bismarck people it is Nathan Hughes’ son, Teresa (Collie) Hughes’ grandson.
Nathan and I graduated HS together. Mom and Teresa graduated HS together.

Halloween "pre-game"

T'was three nights before Halloween...LOL!

So, we finally carved our pumpkin! I've had it for a few days now. It's just been sitting in the kitchen floor, waiting for us to make it all halloween-y! Jackson has been telling it "bye bye pu'kin" the past few mornings. After supper last night we put down a drop cloth in the living room floor...yes, the living room floor...and got to work!
Jackson was right there, ready to help!

It was total monkey see, monkey do!
Kyle would scoop stuff out, then Jackson would reach in and scoop!
He kept stopping and checking it out!
While Kyle was putting the template on (just wait, you'll see why we used a template), Jackson and I "decorated" halloween cookies.
It was more about the cookie and less about the decorating!
(I love this picture!)
One final assistance before bath time. We did bath while Kyle actually carved the pumpkin.
And our finished product!! A Mickey Mouse-o-lantern!
We had so much fun! :)

Just call me Auntie

Although for 9 months now I've been saying "Aunt" and "going to be and Aunt" I can now officially say... I AM AN AUNT! :) Miss Savannah was born yesterday afternoon! My brand new niece and my sister are doing great!

I was communication central yesterday! LOL! I had my phone texting and Kyle's phone on the internet on facebook! So, I only have 1 picture...so far...to share.
It's actually off of my phone, so considering that, it's not too bad!!

BFFs

Well, we asked for it!! When we knew they'd both be boys we said, "I hope they'll be friends!" And here we are 2.5 and 2 years old and these two have been wanting to do EVERYTHING together lately!! It's actually really sweet, because they both ask about each other, want to go see each other, etc! Luckily their Mommy's and Daddy's are good friends, so we try to accommodate... for their sake! :)
We have hit 2 fairs in 2 weekends! The boys have now been to a rodeo, a demolition derby, they've rode on fair rides, enjoyed shaken lemonade, and had a bite or two of some "fair food".
Here are a few pictures of their adventures! I love, love that last picture!! :)

Weather

I am so loving this weather right now!! I mean, anywhere in the 80s in August is great, but it's been lower 80s the past few days!! It makes me so ready for Fall! By far my favorite season is Fall! I love the weather, the clothes - nothing better than a sweater, jeans, and boots, except maybe a hoodie! - the festivals, the festival food, and of course FOOTBALL!! And I am so excited about all of that this year for Jackson! We did some of the festivals last year and he enjoyed being out in his stroller and seeing things. But this year, I just envision him actually having fun at all that stuff! Saline County's fair starts next week and if the weather stays even close to this it will be perfect! And our Church is having a Fall Festival on Halloween this year with pony rides and inflatables! You can't beat that! And not to mention going to the Pumpkin Patch with our friends!! Hopefully I will have some cute pictures to post in the coming weeks! Plus, in about a month, I will be an Aunt!!! Exciting stuff this time of year! :)

Since we last met...

Wow, I really thought I'd be better at this whole blog thing! After seeing my blog on friends' pages and seeing that I haven't posted anything since February, I am REALLY dropping the ball on this one! I mean, I have plenty to say...Usually fairly witty, or at the least sarcastic...An adorable almost-two-year-old, a husband, a couple puppies, I work... Hmmm, maybe that's why I'm not better- I have zero time!
Ok, well, let's work on this.... Update: Since we last met, I/we have.... acquired a new puppy; Jackson got a "big boy" hair cut (and already needs a trim); had pictures taken twice; attended 5 birthday celebrations - 2 child, 3 adult; 4 doctor visits- 2 Jackson, 2 me; walked in the March for Babies' and Kyle started a new job.
A little side view of the cut. He was totally ignoring me!

1 birthday party (posing with our friends, the Schultz's)- this was a farm themed birthday, complete with a petting zoo!

Another birthday party - so much fun at The Little Gym!

Playing with Daddy in between posing for pictures in Easter outfits
Gone fishin' with Uncle Brian and Daddy

Todd, the new puppy
"Shh, puppy sleeping"

Jackson with his buddy, Jacob
March for Babies- Team Carson
And a special treat back in March, was this group getting together!
This does not happen often enough! There were a few key players missing this night...

Spaghetti and Boots (are you curious?)

Just photos from recent happenings at our house!
Enjoy! :)

We had spaghetti for supper the other night.. it was num num!
Apparently it is: "hold fork in left hand while eating with right hand"!

And this morning, I got him dressed and we were headed out the door when he spotted his boots!! Crazy Mommy had put on his tennis shoes; I don’t know what I was thinking! So, he told me “boots” and we had to make a quick shoe change:

But not five minutes from the house I hear “ut oh Momma, boots” and see this in the back seat:

(Notice his keys in his hand; we have to have those when we leave the house now! Smart boy!)

Better late than never, right??

Ok, well, I HAD good intentions! LOL!
Let's see.... we had a great "holiday season". Thanksgiving was spread out about a week long, so we got our fill on turkey and all the fixings. Then came Christmas! I LOVE Christmas! :) I just don't love that it is all crammed into 2 days of chaotic festivities! Ok, so I LOVE Christmas-TIME! Jackson had an amazing Christmas! More presents than he (or I) knows what to do with! I was expecting him to rip through his gifts and then want to play with the wrapping and boxes. Instead, he surprised me and only wanted to open 1 gift - once he did that, he was content, he played with that toy. So Kyle and I ended up unwrapping most of his stuff! That's ok though, because we were just as excited FOR him as he would have been!!

Over the Christmas Break we attempted to go ice skating in Hot Springs, but it was so cold and windy the night we went. We did get a couple of pictures though!
